why collide?

While contemplating the purpose of this website the question arose: why use the word collide? Why not say, “where worship and technology meet?” The word collision could be described by two vehicles hitting head on at great speeds. Is that not what worship and technology is doing to the church today? There isn’t simply a pulpit and piano anymore. There is a collision of lights, sound, video, podcast, powerpoint, and every other type of digital media coming together on Sunday mornings. The tools we have to enhance our services are changing daily. Technology isn’t the same today as it will be tomorrow.
